Empower Behaviour Consulting Inc. (“we”, “our”, or “the Company”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal and health information.   • Assessment results, clinical notes, and progress data

  • Reports and treatment plans

  • Through intake forms and booking via Jane App (practice management system)

    When you contact us by email, phone, or text

  • During service delivery (sessions, assessments, reports)

  • Through our website hosted on Wix

  • Through analytics tools such as Google Analytics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide behaviour consultation and therapy services

  • Communicate with you about appointments and services

  • Maintain clinical records and documentation

  • Process payments and manage billing

  • Improve our website and services

 

We collect, use, and disclose personal and health information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

For child clients:

  • We rely on parent or legal guardian consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of information

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate information and consenting on behalf of their child

  • Through intake forms in Jane App

  • Verbally or in writing during service delivery

 

We also obtain informed consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal and health information through our intake forms and service agreements. This includes consent for communication via email, phone, text message, and virtual services.

 

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal, contractual, and clinical limitations. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide services.

 

Electronic Communication

We may communicate with you using email, phone, or virtual platforms. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, these methods are not always fully secure. By providing your contact information, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our business. These providers may have access to personal information only as necessary to perform their services.

  • Jane App (booking, records, billing, video sessions)

  • Google Workspace (email and calendar)

  • Google Analytics (website analytics)

  • Zoom Phone (phone calls)

  • Wix (website hosting)

  • GoDaddy (domain services)

  • QuickBooks (bookkeeping and financial records)

  • SaskTel (internet services)

  • UnitusTI (secure data storage and internal systems)

 

We ensure that these providers maintain appropriate safeguards to protect your information.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Google Analytics, Google Workspace, and Zoom Phone) may store or process data outside of Canada, including in the United States.

  • Your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions

  • Law enforcement or government authorities in those jurisdictions may access your data

 

We take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

7. Payments and Financial Information

Payments are processed through:

  • Jane App (credit/debit processing)

  • RBC (e-transfers)

  • QuickBooks (financial recordkeeping)

 

We do not store full credit card details on our own systems.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal and health information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide services

  • Meet legal, regulatory, and professional requirements

 

In general, client records are retained for at least 7 years after the last contact, in accordance with applicable standards.

9. Safeguards

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Secure, password-protected systems and devices

  • Restricted access to authorized personnel only

  • Use of secure platforms for clinical records (such as Jane App)

  • Staff awareness of confidentiality obligations

 

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal and health information is protected against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

In the event of a privacy breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected individuals and comply with applicable legal requirements.

Our website uses cookies and tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site.

Empower Behaviour Consulting Inc. does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you or your child are in immediate danger or require urgent support, please call 911 or contact your local emergency services.
